Documentation

Install and configure

  1. Add cxo_website_visitor_analytics to the Odoo 19 custom addons path, update the Apps list and install CXO Website Insights.
  2. Open Website, Configuration, Websites and select the exact website that should collect analytics.
  3. Open Website Insights, review the privacy and consent guidance, then confirm the website domain and every allowed HTTPS origin.
  4. Configure logged-in-user, internal-network, known-bot and Do Not Track handling, plus detailed-data retention, freshness and the daily accepted-event quota.
  5. Enable collection and perform one controlled visit from an eligible browser. Confirm the dashboard changes from unavailable only after the event is accepted.

Use the reports

Open Website, Reporting, Website Insights. Select one website or All Websites, then choose today, yesterday, seven days, 30 days, lifetime or a custom range. Use the comparison selector for the preceding equal-length period or previous year.

Open Daily Performance, Visits, Page Views and Goals for native Odoo list, graph, pivot, search and grouping tools. Use Export CSV for bounded aggregate extracts, or Email Summaries for daily or weekly administrator updates.

Privacy and data lifecycle

The module does not store raw IP addresses, full user-agent strings, page query strings, full referrer URLs, third-party cookies or fingerprint signals. Customers remain responsible for their privacy notice, consent design, retention choices and local requirements; this guidance is not legal advice.

Use the confirmed deletion workflow on the exact website when analytics history must be removed. Backups remain governed by the database operator.

Important production control

The collector includes bounded request, batch, replay, duplicate and daily-quota controls. Multi-worker production deployments must also apply a shared edge or reverse-proxy rate limit as documented by the module.
