CXOdoo grew from problems we encountered in our own work.
Sometimes that meant an everyday annoyance, such as spending too long trying to find an app in the Odoo launcher.
Sometimes it meant reducing the chance of a simple mistake having larger consequences, such as accidentally adding an external contact to an internal conversation.
And sometimes it meant removing repetitive work, such as manually checking Australian business information before sending formal documents.
We solved those problems because we needed the solutions ourselves.
When a solution makes sense for other Odoo users, we turn it into a CXOdoo product.

CXOdoo is led by Benjamin Smith FACS CP, Managing Director of CXO Advisory.
Benjamin’s career has spanned technology leadership, enterprise systems, digital transformation, operational management and business ownership. He has worked in senior technology and executive roles, including CIO and CEO responsibilities, delivered technology in complex operational environments, and now works across technology strategy, Odoo implementation, integration and custom development.
That experience shapes the way CXOdoo products are built.
The starting point is rarely “what feature can we add?”. It is usually a business problem: a process that takes too long, information that cannot be trusted, a control that is too easy to get wrong, or work that does not fit naturally into the standard Odoo workflow.
That is an important distinction.
CXOdoo is not simply a collection of modules written by a developer looking for things to add to the Odoo marketplace. The products are approached from the perspective of someone who has been responsible for technology and for the organisations, people, processes, risks and outcomes that technology is supposed to support.

FACS CP
FACS CP means Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, Certified Professional.
Fellow is the ACS membership grade recognising seniority and contribution to the technology profession. Certified Professional is ACS’s technology-independent professional certification for experienced practitioners.
It reflects professional experience beyond a specific technology or product, together with continuing professional development and professional and ethical obligations.
Benjamin’s professional practice is also covered by appropriate professional insurance.
A career built around making technology work in the real world
Benjamin’s career began in hands-on technology and infrastructure environments before progressing into broader technology leadership.
His experience has included technology delivery in large operational settings, oversight of government and enterprise technology services, building technology capability in growing organisations, CIO responsibilities, executive leadership and eventually business ownership and advisory work.
That progression matters because software decisions look different when you have also been accountable for budgets, operations, staff, customers, governance and business outcomes.
A technically elegant solution is not necessarily a good business solution.
CXOdoo products are therefore designed with questions such as these in mind:
- Will this actually make someone’s job easier?
- Does it reduce unnecessary risk or rework?
- Does it fit the way the organisation operates?
- Can users understand what it is doing?
- Is it maintainable?
- Does it work with Odoo rather than unnecessarily working around it?

There are many excellent Odoo developers.
