Why We Built It
We needed to verify Australian businesses before sending formal documents.
While developing our ZoomInfo integration, we encountered a gap.
Odoo and ZoomInfo can both help build richer customer and supplier records, but neither is specifically designed around Australian business identification.
Before sending formal documentation, we needed to confirm that the customer or supplier recorded in Odoo was the right Australian entity and that its ABN was correct.
Doing that manually meant leaving Odoo, searching externally, identifying the right entity, checking its information, returning to Odoo and updating the contact.
Then repeating the process for the next organisation.
It quickly became tedious.
So we built Australian Business Lookup.

How It Works
- Start the lookup from an Australian company contact or a selected batch.
- Search using the supported ABN, ACN or company information.
- Review ambiguous candidates and the Australian Business Register evidence.
- Apply the supported conservative changes that are appropriate for the contact.
Privacy / External Service
Each customer supplies its own ABR Web Services credential. Lookup requests travel directly from the customer’s Odoo server to ABR Web Services. CXO Advisory does not receive the lookup data.

Technical details
Odoo 19 Enterprise. Supported on Odoo.sh and self-hosted or on-premise Odoo where custom modules can be installed. Odoo Online does not support installation of this third-party module.
Each customer supplies its own ABR Web Services GUID. Lookup requests travel directly from the customer's Odoo server to ABR Web Services. CXO Advisory does not receive the lookup data.
Licence
OPL-1. One perpetual licence covers one production Odoo database, unlimited users and companies in that database, and its related development, staging, test and backup clones.
Included support
The paid licence includes investigation and correction of reproducible defects and maintenance releases for the supported current Odoo major version, Odoo 19. ABR registration, installation, configuration, customisation, workflow changes, third-party problems and consulting may fall outside included product support.
